Copy Editing
I used to work alongside a marketing team that would send me copy with typos. Those typos were frequent enough that I had to flag them nearly every time. It got me thinking about how much a small mistake can undercut everything else a business is doing right. You can have a great product and a strong brand, but if your website or social posts have errors, people notice, and it makes you look less put-together than you really are.
If you already have copy up and running and just need someone to go through it, that's where I come in. I'll read through your website, your social captions, your emails, wherever your words are living, and clean them up so they read the way you meant them to. It's a small thing, but it matters.
Copy editing is the process of revising written material to improve quality and readibility, as well as ensuring that a text is free of errors in grammar, style, and accuracy.
Experience
Most of my copy editing experience is in novels, but I've also worked on policies and procedures documents, and I've built enough websites at this point to know what good copy needs to look like once it's live. Add in the years I spent asking a marketing company to fix their typos, and I've got about four years of experience under my belt. It's a mix that's given me a pretty wide range, from long-form fiction to more technical writing, and the kind of shorter, punchier copy that goes on a website or a social post. I know how to adjust for whatever you need.
